Tennis Dispatches Mustangs
TAHLEQUAH, Okla. --- Northeastern State advanced to the second round of the 2010 NCAA Division II Women's Tennis championships here Thursday with a 5-1 victory over Midwestern State.
The RiverHawks, 14-4 on the year, ranked No. 16 nationally and the No. 2 seed in the South Central Region, claimed two doubles points and earned three singles matches for the win. The victory sets up Friday's championship match in the South Central Region #2 with Cameron, which upset Tarleton State 5-4 in the other semifinal. The RiverHawks and Aggies will play at 10 a.m. Friday for the right to advance to the Round of 16 at Sanlando Park, Fla., next week.
