Golf Falls to Third

 

 

 

DUNCAN, OKLA. - Northeastern State University slipped from second to third in the final round of the Oklahoma Intercollegiate Women's Golf Tournament Tuesday at the Territory Country Club.

The RiverHawks fired a final round 319 for a 36-hole total of 630, 16 strokes behind tournament winner St. Edwards, Texas.

St. Edwards fired a 310 to finish at 614, followed by Angelo State 623, Northeastern State, Central Oklahoma 631 and West Texas A&M at 633, in the 13-team field.

Jenks freshman Whitney McAteer fired a second round 81, and a 36-hole total 156 to finish 11th, 12 strokes behind medalist Kirby Baker of St. Edwards, Texas at 144.

Other Northeastern scores were Katie Miller 159, Shaunda Petree 159, Paola Torres 163 and Liz Cagle 165 for the two rounds.
