Bird 6th, RiverHawks 10 at Coca-Cola Classic


GLENROSE, Texas ----  Northeastern State (OK) had a much better showing on the final day of the Tarleton State Coca-Cola Classic shaving 50 shots off its first round total to finish 10th.  Stephanie Bird tied for sixth with rounds of 81 and 75.

 

On a tough first day of competition, the RiverHawks posted a dismal round of 359, but day two fared much better as Northeastern State posted one of the lowest scores of the final round.

 

Bird paced the RiverHawks followed by Liz Cagle who tied for 37th with rounds of 91 and 78.  Paola Torres tied for 39th with rounds of 95 and 75.  Katie Miller tied for 50th with rounds of 92 and 81 while Shaunda Petree tied for 69th with rounds of 97 and 87.

 

St. Edward's University took home the team title and Western Texas Community College's Katie Mundey won the medalist honor in a seven-hole playoff with Dallas Baptist's Heather Wilbur.
