RiverHawks Seventh at UCO Tournament

 

OKLAHOMA CTIY - Northeastern State improved two strokes and one place following Monday's first round to fire a 313 in Tuesday's final round of the University of Central Oklahoma Women's Classic at Lincoln Park East Course to place seventh in the 18-team field.

The RiverHawks fired rounds of 315 and 313 for a 628 total to finish 32 strokes behind tournament winner Tarleton State at 294.

Northeastern State's Whitney McAteer fired the RiverHawks best round of the day a 6-over par 76 to finish the 36-hole tournament with a 153, 13-over par for the tournament and in 16th place. The Jenks freshman shot an opening round 77 on Monday.

Senior Katie Miller shot 77 Tuesday to go along with her opening round 81 to finish at 158 to place 35th.

 All five players for the Tarleton shot 77 or lower in cool, windy conditions, led by Katy Ward's one-over-par 71. St. Edward's finished second in at 601 after a closing 304, while the host Bronchos were third at 604 following a final-round 304. Angelo State's Raelyn Smith shot a sizzling five-under-par 65 to breeze to a 10-shot triumph in the individual race.

Northeastern's final tournament of the fall season will be Oct. 12-13 at the Territory Classic hosted by Cameron University in Duncan.
