RiverHawks Fifth in Florida Tournament

PENSACOLA, FLA. --Northeastern State Univesity is fifth after the opening round of the Bubba Watson West Florida Invitational women's golf tournament Monday.

The RiverHawks fired a 324 to trail leader Flordia Southern by 13 strokes. Florida Southern shot a 311, followed by Central Oklahoma 313, St. Edwards University 317, West Florida 319 and Northeastern State.

Jenks freshman Whitney McAteer leads the RiverHawks scoring with a 78 on the par 72, 6,022 yard course. McAteer is 7-strokes back of leader Emily Flanigan of Florida Southern, who shot an opening 2-over par 74.

RiverHawks' junior Shaunda Petree shot an opening 79, followed by sophomore Paola Torres at 82. Seniors Liz Cage and Katie Miller opened play with a round of 85 each.
